Fourth of July fun facts

No holiday has more spirit or charm than the Fourth of July, and we figured, with this all American holiday quickly approaching, that we would share a few fun facts and stories to get everyone in the spirit.

Did you know…

  • The first public Fourth of July event at the White House occurred in 1804.
  • A French engineer, Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel, who built the Eiffel Tower in Paris also devised the iron framework of the Statue of Liberty.
  • Our country’s first father, George Washington, held his first public office at the age of 17 and continued in public service until his death in 1799.
  • History shows that fireworks were originally made in China and as early as the 11th century. This was during the time when the Chinese people used pyrotechnic mixtures for war rockets and explosives.

Here’s a fun fact about LA Party Designs in our celebration of independence:
Sharri is traveling to Minneapolis with her family this week to watch her son Chance play volleyball in the Junior Olympics. Lots of fun, family and friends all around! Chance we wish you and all of our friends and clients, luck and happiness over this holiday weekend!
